Context

A national clinical practice, hidden behind a generic template.

Maguire Intervention Group is a nationally-recognized ARISE® Invitational Intervention practice based in South Carolina. Founder Tim Maguire and his team bring over forty years of combined clinical experience to families navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives. Their work spans family counseling, sober companionship, treatment placement, and crisis intervention.

The work is specialized. The team is exceptional. The existing site, built years earlier on a stock WordPress theme, was telling a very different story.

The inherited site

Seven pages of Divi, three stock photos, and no clear message.

The site we inherited had been assembled inside the Divi page builder. Content was fragmented across seven separate pages. The hero paired a generic “Hope Starts Here” headline with a staged stock photo of a hug, complete with an awkwardly-composited bearded man in the bottom-right corner. The rest of the site followed the same pattern: oversized bright-blue headings, more stock photography, and dense paragraphs of text with nowhere to land.

It was not broken. It was just forgettable. The kind of site that could have belonged to any therapy practice anywhere in the country. For a team with this level of specialization, that is a problem.

Before live site, 2025

Original Maguire Intervention Group homepage with Hope Starts Here headline, hug stock photo, and royal blue gradient background built in WordPress Divi.
  • Seven separate pages

About Us, Interventions, Companionship, Meetings, FAQs, Blog, Contact. Each had its own URL, each loaded its own template, each fragmented the story.

  • Generic stock photography

Staged hugs, tense group conversations, models that read as therapy in the most templated possible way. Nothing specific to Tim, his team, or their work.

  • Divi page-builder overhead

Heavy front-end bundle, slow initial paint, plugin-dependent forms, ongoing PHP and theme maintenance. Overhead for a brochure site that did not need any of it.

  • Weak conversion path

The contact page was buried two clicks deep. The homepage CTA (“Contact Us”) was vague. Nothing on the site communicated urgency or built confidence in a moment of family crisis.

The approach

Treat it like the clinical practice it is.

Editorial discipline. Typographic restraint. A single scroll that delivers the story in the right order, builds trust section by section, and ends with one clear action.

  1. One page, one argument.

Collapse seven pages into a single narrative arc. Every section earns its place by advancing the case for picking up the phone.

  2. Let typography carry the weight.

A considered pairing of Cormorant Garamond for display and DM Sans for body does more work than any stock photo could.

  3. Remove everything that is not earning its place.

No carousels, no parallax, no gradient swooshes. Every detail that stays is there to help a family in crisis take the next step.

  4. Build for speed, and for Google.

Static HTML on Cloudflare's edge. Proper semantic markup, schema.org structured data, and SEO woven into the copy itself, not bolted on at the end.

Before & after

The redesign, side by side.

01 Navigation

From a seven-item menu to a five-item journey with one clear CTA.

Before

Old navigation with seven links: About Us, Interventions, Companionship, Meetings dropdown, FAQs, Blog, Contact.
Seven links, one dropdown, no CTA. A visitor had to decide where to go before learning anything about the practice.

After

New navigation and hero with five links, a Get Help Now button, and the headline When a Family Reaches Out, Hope Answers.
Five in-page anchors, one decisive button (Get Help Now), and a hero that states the offer plainly.

02 Hero

From stock-photo composite to an editorial opening.

Before

Original hero with Hope Starts Here headline and a stock photo of a couple hugging with a composited bearded man in the corner.
Hope Starts Here, a headline that could belong to any practice. A staged stock photo, not a single detail specific to Tim's work.

After

New hero reading When a Family Reaches Out, Hope Answers on a slate background with a grayscale photo of folded hands.
A headline that reframes the phone call as the turning point. Grayscale imagery. Direct, dignified copy that ends in a single call-to-action.

03 Services

From a long services page to a tight, seven-card grid.

Before

Original Intervention Services page with research citations, bulleted lists, and another stock photo of a group.
Dense blocks of text, research citations inline, another stock photo. A page a family in crisis is unlikely to read.

After

New End-to-End Intervention and Recovery Services section with four numbered cards.
Seven numbered services. Short, declarative copy. The ARISE® methodology is named, defined, and positioned, not buried in a footnote.

The new site

Section 01 / Hero

When a Family Reaches Out, Hope Answers.

The opening statement. Editorial, direct, and written to meet a family at the worst moment of their year.

New Maguire Intervention Group homepage hero section.

Section 02 / The ARISE® model

Proof, rendered as typography.

The clinical outcomes that make ARISE® the most effective intervention methodology available, set in oversized italic numerals where they belong.

The ARISE Invitational Intervention section showing outcome statistics of 83%, 96%, and 61%.

Section 03 / Services

Seven services, framed as a continuum.

From the first confidential phone call through six months of active recovery support, presented as one integrated practice, not a menu of products.

End-to-end intervention and recovery services section with a four-card grid.

Section 04 / Team

Depth that most practitioners do not have.

The team's 40+ years of combined clinical experience, anchored visually by a sage callout tile embedded inside the photo grid.

Team section showing four headshots in a grid with a 40+ years combined experience callout.

The design system

A palette, a pair of typefaces, and nothing more.

Display
Cormorant Garamond, Medium and Italic. 500 / 400 weight.
Body
DM Sans, Regular. 400 weight, 17px base.

Palette

  • Slate#2D3446
  • Sage#8FA099
  • Cream#F0EDE8
  • White#FFFFFF

A four-color system. Slate carries weight, sage carries accents, cream and white carry everything else.

Under the hood

SEO and performance, built in from the start.

Strip away WordPress and Divi, and a brochure site becomes what it always should have been: a single HTML document served from a global edge network. Every technical decision on this project traced back to two questions: is it fast, and can Google tell what this business does?

  • Static HTML on Cloudflare Pages

Free, globally-distributed hosting. Automatic HTTPS. Near-instant first paint. No plugin updates, no PHP version drift, no monthly hosting bill.

  • Schema.org structured data

LocalBusiness and MedicalBusiness JSON-LD in the head. Helps Google understand the practice, its location, and its services, and surfaces richer results.

  • Semantic HTML hierarchy

One H1. Sectioned content with descriptive H2s. Alt text on every image. Aria labels where they matter. Ranking signals start with structure.

  • Keywords in the copy

“ARISE® intervention,” “family-centered addiction intervention,” “sober companionship,” “nationwide intervention specialists.” Placed naturally in H1, H2, and body. No stuffing.

  • Open Graph and Twitter cards

Proper metadata so the site renders correctly wherever it is shared. Google, social, email previews. Trust starts before the click.

  • Cloudflare Worker contact form

No plugins, no third-party form service. A single edge worker handles submissions and routes them to Tim's inbox. Fast, private, and fully owned.

Outcomes

What changed, measured where it counts.

  • Pages

    7 1

Seven templated WordPress pages collapsed into a single focused scroll. One narrative, one conversion path.

  • Infrastructure

    $0/month

WordPress hosting bill eliminated. Site now runs free on Cloudflare Pages with automatic HTTPS and global CDN.

  • Nav items

    5+ CTA

Five anchor links plus one decisive Get Help Now button. Every click points toward contact, not further reading.

  • Dependencies

    0

No Divi, no Elementor, no plugins. Vanilla HTML, CSS, and a single edge worker. Nothing to break, nothing to update.

  • Stock photos

    3 0

Staged hugs and composite models replaced with a single, quiet grayscale image and the team's real headshots.

  • SEO

    Built in

Structured data, semantic hierarchy, OG metadata, and keyword-aware copy. Engineered in from the first line of HTML.
